Robert L. Griffin is a Chicago-based virtuoso whose extraordinary skills on trumpet, flugelhorn, and piccolo trumpet have earned him recognition as one of the most unique and masterful musicians in his field. With a career that spans over five decades, Griffin’s artistry is a dazzling fusion of genres—from jazz, R&B, blues, and gospel to classical, live theater, and beyond. His musical journey has taken him across the globe, performing in prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall to celebrated theaters across North America, Europe, and Japan. Griffin’s extensive training is as diverse as his musical talents, including studies at Chicago City Colleges, Roosevelt University, the AACM School of Music, and the Jimmy Ellis Jazz Workshop. A fixture at the Chicago Jazz Festival, he’s graced the stage more than fifteen times, captivating audiences with his virtuosity. His resume reads like a who's-who of music legends.
