Martin Alexander
Martin Alexander was a talented trombonist and a dedicated member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM). Over the years, he performed with several influential AACM ensembles, including the AACM Experimental Band, the AACM Large Ensemble, and the Great Black Music Ensemble. In addition to his musical contributions, Martin worked as a copyist for the renowned composer and musician Muhal Richard Abrams. Known for his erudition and wisdom, he also pursued a successful career as an electrical engineer (hence the nickname "Sparx"). Martin’s cosmopolitan lifestyle took him across the globe, with residences spanning from Thailand to the Middle East, reflecting his wide-ranging interests and deep appreciation for diverse cultures.
