Isaiah Jackson

Isaiah was born in a small town called Charleston Mississippi .Six to ten miles south of another small town called Polk, Mississippi Home of A.A.C.M. s Oliver Lake. Isaiah began trombone studies in 6th grade, 1963 with Prof. James O. Micou of Koziesko, Mississippi. He undertook college studies at Mississippi Valley State University. He was a member of the prestigious marching band directed by Professor O Neal Sanford and Dr. Russell Boone. Performances included appearances at the Daytona 500, The Rose Bowl Parade, and the Richard M. Nixon s presidential inaugural parade in 1968. Isaiah has also studied with Dr. Alvin Baptiste at Southern University, Professor Bunky Green, Willie Pickens, Bill Russo, Dr. Richard Wang and Muhal Richard Abrams.

Isaiah Jackson has toured all over the world performing with artists such as the reggae group, Third World, Little Johnny Taylor, Jimmy Reed, Otis Clay, Garland Green, Little Mack Simmons, The Dells, Chicago's Black Lightnin, A Thurber Carnival. Isaiah is an original member of the internationally renown octet 8 Bold Souls and also performs with Shadow Vignettes under the direction of Edward Wilkerson Jr.
